About L.I.C.H
Formed in June 1986, LICH began as an alliance of
associations representing the interests of landscapers in
Hawaii. In 2002, membership was expanded to include
corporations and individuals working in the green industry.
Our goals are to:
- Promote public awareness and appreciation of the
landscape industry
- Encourage and support funding and research
- Promote training and certification opportunities
- Work toward favorable legislation for our industry
- Forge partnerships with groups like the Hawaii Farm
Bureau Federation, Division of Forestry and Wildlife,
Kaulunani, Outdoor Circle, CTAHR, and others
- Continue to sponsor an annual state wide green industry
conference and trade show

At a Strategic Planning Retreat held in 2001, business members of the landscape industry concluded that LICH as a
statewide association composed of all elements of our industry, can provide the necessary leadership to identify and meet the needs of its
members and act as their voice. Critical issues— such as: lack of recognition and respect for the green industry, lost funding
opportunities, lowered standards of workmanship, lack of presence in government and education—need to be addressed now. As participants of
the Retreat wrote, “Unless positive action is taken, the industry will continue to languish below its full potential.”
We encourage you to consider the benefits of LICH membership described within our website and apply for membership today. |
